I first saw a picture of the PT Cruiser posted at Carpoint.com after the 1999 Detroit auto show. It was in a photo article titled "Top Ten Concept Cars" and when I first saw it, I knew I would own one. After their release here in 2000, the timing just was not suited for us to get my "dream" car. We had put all my Cruiser funds into remodeling and updating our home.
2002 came and it was a different story! This was going to be my year. I had always heard that one of the best months to get a deal on a car was late March, right before the big tax day. So, March 23, 2002 we twisted the dealers arm, and one week later we drove her home.
I don't care if they do not get 28 miles per gallon in the city, I do not care if they do not turn on a dime. I do not care if the 24 and younger crowd is not impressed. I love it! For us, it is a great car, and that is all that counts.
